Run-outs are used either as baggage carousels in the arrival area or as sorting carousels in the baggage halls.

Carousels can be designed in a very flexible manner. Their shape can consist of simple loops or highly sophisticated shapes with a number of different curves or arcs. The run-outs can be adapted to airports’ exact requirements. They can be outfitted either with semi-circle plates (steel or plastic) or plastic slats.

The main advantage of semi-circle plates is the fact that conveyor belt sections can be raised for accessing the moving parts (such as rollers, chains, and belts). Plastic slats allow for the entire width of the run-out to be used for moving baggage. The run-out’s drive can be designed either in a positive-locking way with a chain or in a frictional-locking way with Poly-V belts.

All pull-in points are safeguarded according to the European Machinery Directive as well as all other applicable European norms and standards.
